Friday...again

Well it is "just" Friday but can't believe where this week has gone!! Flew right by when I wasn't watching I guess!!
This week we had quite a big snow storm on Monday night and Tuesday most of the day...about 9 inches altogether but it warmed up quite a bit on Tuesday afternoon and it did melt some. Here are a couple pictures I took Tuesday....

Since then we have had brrrr cold weather...now tonight they are forecasting another 2-4 inches starting early morning....hurry up Spring!!!

My daughter Lori and I joined Curves this past week and yesterday was our first session...we are going again tomorrow and hopefully can get through it without a lot of help...we shall see. A lot of the machines were familiar to me from physical therapy when I had my broken ankle,toes and foot a couple years ago..and then last spring when I had knee surgery, but it's been a while and I am definitely out of shape!! (Can I blame it on my surgery last month??) Probably not!!
Well it seems it is past my bedtime...hubby has already gone on to bed and here I am still on the computer!! I guess maybe I am a little addicted!!

It's the Weekend!!

Hello on this late Saturday afternoon..Spent most of the morning getting my computer cleaned up and getting my new printer to work wireless. My son who is very smart about these things spent about 3 hours working on it and updating things that I don't bother with...etc. so now we will see how it goes!!
I have always used Mozilla Firefox and about a month ago something went berserk with it and I couldn't get it to run on my pc...so he fixed that for me too!! YAY!!
Here are some pics of my beautiful flowers that were given to me when I had surgery last month..they all were so pretty I couldn't resist saving pictures of them...I hope you enjoy them too!!

One of the pictures is of a bouquet that I received on my last day of work from 3 of the staff...that was a really nice surprise too!!
I am going to sign off for now..have to do something constructive around the house today...like... for a start...then some so better get busy!! Have a blessed Saturday!!

I'm Back...finally

Well I guess I have been neglectful in my posting here..hmmm didn't realize it had been 10 days since I had been here..I have been doing a lot of reading and haven't taken the time to post here...so will try and catch up on what's been happening!
ok...first of all my hubby spoiled me with beautiful roses that had a little stuffed teddy bear with it's arms around the vase...then he took me to Red Lobster for supper...but we went the day after to avoid the rush!! It was a nice Valentine's Day!!
On Monday the 18th I had my post op checkup with the surgeon that did my surgery and that went real well..said everything was doing very good and confirmed again to me that all the pathologists reports showed NO cancer..and I praise the Lord for that and thank all that prayed for me during this time..
So that's what has been going on with me along with really enjoying my retirement..which went into effect on February 1st!! Next month I will be working a few hours here and there..one thing I will be doing is a staff training once a month and the first one is the end of March..so I will still be involved with the center in a small way.
We have had quite a bit of snow this last month and lots of temperatures..I am so ready for warmer weather!!! but I am trying to be patient..and spring will be here soon!!

Finally some sunshine!!

It's been a while since we have had a nice sunny day...after a frigid Sunday with a wind chill of minus 15 degrees, this is a nice change..It is still cold but no wind!! I have opted to stay inside where it is nice and warm..have some laundry to do, and I always have a book beside my chair ready to read!!

Been doing pretty good with my weight loss program..before surgery I had less of an appetite so it was easier to stay on program..but as I recuperate, my appetite is also recuperating so I am having to be more careful..but I thank the Lord for helping me in this area too!!

Hmmmm snow is back!!

Good evening or I should say good morning!! It has been a good day..took it easy...after having more snow last night I decided not to venture out for a visit today but to stay in where it was nice and warm and dry. Tonight hubby and I went to WW (Weight Watchers). I lost 2 more pounds so that was encouraging...then we went to Applebee's for supper afterwards.

I am feeling much better each day..getting my strength back and getting a little antsy to do some stuff around the house that is still not permitted...until I have my post op checkup on the 18th of this month.
Think it is time to head off to bed...

Snow is all melted!! Yay!!

After a big thunderstorm during the night and temps in the low 50's the snow was gone this morning except where plowing had made some big snow piles..but those are gone tonight. Now it is but hopefully it isn't going to be freezing rain.

Today I made my visit to the child care...it was fun to see everyone and the kids were even glad to see me!! It was the first I had been back since my surgery and everyone was surprised with the difference of 20+ pounds lost since I had seen everyone..I can't believe what a difference it makes in my clothes...got lots of tops that are huge on me and I have to admit it's a nice problem!!
Tomorrow I plan on taking it easy...doing some laundry and not overdoing it after a day out today. I am amazed how good I feel but don't want to overdo.

Time to think about getting ready for bed...have a wonderful evening...and remember....

Foggy day in Michigan

Today started out with the schools being delayed for 2 hours due to snow/ice/snow on the streets...then the temps went up some and the fog started and gradually got foggier all day..tomorrow the forecast is 50 degrees!!??? Hope there is some
Had a nice visit from a friend that use to work with me at the center..she retired about 4 years ago but we stay in touch. She had been wanting to come and visit after I had my surgery and this was the first she could make it...she brought me a beautiful decorated box with votive candles and votive holders in it..really nice and my candle stash was getting low so it was perfect timing! We visited and reminisced for a couple hours...
Tomorrow I am making tentative plans to make a visit to the center..haven't been back since the surgery and one of the ladies is getting ready to go on vacation to Aruba for 10 days and I would like to see her before she goes..and now since I am retired it would definitely be a "visit" not work...ahhhh sounds nice.

What?? 6 more weeks of winter???

And what did I hear this morning?? That the groundhog seen his shadow!! Yikes I don't want 6 more weeks of winter!! Well around our area I don't think he seen his shadow but we will have to wait and see how many more weeks of winter won't we?!!
It is a cloudy, 28 degrees here today and looks like we may get some rain later...
I just had a phone call from my daughter...she was at a Solo and Ensemble competition with my granddaughter Megan..(who is a Sophomore in high school) she had just finished getting her ratings from her solo. She got a 1 which is the best she could get!! Yay for Megan!! Now in April she will go to the State competition...
I am going to be getting out a little today..have some work to do at the church office and do the bulletin for tomorrow's service. So I should get busy...
