Sunday...March 27th

Hard to believe that it's almost April! But I can assure you I am ecstatic to think that Spring is almost here!! On the calendar it says it is spring but our temperatures here in Michigan are still in the low 30's and about 20 degrees below normal so it hasn't felt like it...yet!

Hubby and I had another bout with a cold/cough/sneezing bug the last couple weeks. Took the stuffing out of us for sure!! Finally after almost two weeks we are both feeling a lot better. Missed church last Sunday so it was especially good to be there today, worshiping the Lord with our church family.

Had a fun afternoon, surprising a good friend for her 75th birthday. Her son had 10 of us meet up with them at Cracker Barrel after church and had a great time together...and she was surprised!!

Been a pretty quiet time around our house due to being down with the bug, but looking forward to this next week of getting some decluttering done around the house. Want to be prepared to have time to spend outdoors when the weather cooperates.

I ordered a new lawn swing a couple weeks ago online...it came in to our local Walmart last week, so this week we went and picked it up and now it's in the garage waiting to be put together! I am excited to have a new one as our last one is worn out. I love sitting in the swing and reading...Here's a sneak peek at the new swing..

I hope it's as comfy as it looks!!

We have some crocuses blooming along the side of the house...tulips and daffodils are budded and all it will take is a few warmer days and they will be blooming too! Love my flowers...can hardly wait to plant the pots for on the deck and my flower bench that hubby made me several summers ago...be sure there will be pictures when that happens!!

Friday..almost Saturday!!

Can't believe that it is almost midnight here in Michigan..where did today go???
It's been a great Friday..
First..Lori, Megan and I went out for lunch at LoneStar Steakhouse...had a great time together..then took my PT Cruiser to the garage and got a light fixed in the gear shift...something they forgot to do when they were working on it a week ago..but that's over and it's fine now.
Then we made a stop at Office Max before heading home..of course my gas tank buzzer decided it was time to go off to let me know my gas was getting low so I stopped and filled up the gas tank..first time it has ever cost me 40.oo to fill my gas tank in the PT since I got it 9 years ago!! (Due to the price being 3.52 per gallon!!) But I Praise the Lord that I had the money!!

So that was the majority of my day...after dropping Lori and Megan off, I came home and vegged out in the recliner for a little while..caught up on some stuff around the house..and then this evening we went to Red Lobster for a delicious meal..sort of a celebration of getting our income tax refund deposited in our account today..it was a double blessing because due to a silly thing I did when I filed it we got back about 3 times more than what I had figured we would!! Thanks IRS for correcting my mistake!! And thank You Lord for blessing us!!

Rainy Wednesday in March

Good evening from rainy foggy Michigan. "Balmy" 48 degrees at 10:30 pm...cooling off tomorrow. It's been a good day. Started out with my ladies Bible study this morning..We are doing Beth Moore's Bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit. Very good study.

Made a stop at the grocery store on the way home and got a few groceries...got salmon for our supper and some garlic bread (cheated and bought it ready to stick in the oven!)

Spent the afternoon doing routine 'stuff' around here. I did sneak in a little reading too! After supper we had Bible class at church from 7:00 to 8:30. (Discipleship I Course) now we are home and kicked back in the recliner's watching some news at the moment.

I have some spring flowers...daffodils, tulips, crocuses coming up along the side of our house by the driveway and they are struggling to get through a layer of wet leaves..so if it isn't too rainy tomorrow I plan on cleaning off the leaves so these beauties can continue to pop up!! I can hardly wait for spring and all the flowers and warmer temperatures..it won't be long now!!

Looking for Spring!!

Well it's another cold day here in Michigan! I am so ready for spring but trying to be patient!!
I haven't been very good about blogging so after some "encouragement" from my friend Judy I am trying to do better!!

It's been a really snowy winter and I have taken advantage of that by staying inside when the weather made the walking treacherous..after falling a few years back and breaking my foot, toes, and ankle I am a little leery when it gets icy and snowy. Fred even bought me yak traks to put on my shoes that definitely help if I have to go out when it's nasty.

Not a whole lot of excitement around here. Been doing a lot of reading (as usual) and I have started watching the store ads for a new outdoor swing. Last year we waited too late into the season and ended up not finding a new one (in our price range)...so hopefully will find one this spring. Except for spending time with the family and mini trips with hubby...reading outside in my swing is probably my favorite summer activity!!

Yesterday my best friend Cathy and I went out to J Alexander's for a delicious lunch to celebrate her 70th birthday!! We had a nice leisurely lunch and then sat and talked for a couple hours..couldn't believe how fast the time flew by...It's great having a person in your life that knows all about you and still loves you!!
