Finally....Friday!

It has been a really rough week here at our house.  It actually started last Thursday when I started with a sore throat and chills...well as the weekend went on I felt worse and worse so early Monday morning I called the doctor..went in and found out I had sinusitis and bronchitis..gave me a antibiotic prescription and said to use a vaporizer 'all the time'...came home and was thinking this wasn't going to be too bad, but Tuesday was terrible, coughing, feverish, achy, and spent most of the day in bed.  Hubby had started coughing on Monday so he went to the doctor Tuesday...diagnosis?? pneumonia!!  They also took an xray and prescribed antibiotic..so all that to say we have ended up being 2 very sick retirees!!  I don't think I can remember feeling this terrible with a illness in years!!  We have had lots of prayer, lots of encouragement, but it seems to be taking a really long time to see a big difference..Something sort of weird happened with hubby..after not having any sinus issues, yesterday he started sneezing, and very congested in his sinuses..seems backward to have that now but he is pretty miserable!!

I had come across this verse a while back and thought that after this week it was a good one to share here...

As awful as this week has been we are so blessed in every way.  For our church, family, friends and my online friends that have been so encouraging.  We both know this is something temporary and that God is definitely in Control!! And I definitely praise Him for that!!

Sunny Saturday...

I ran across this quote this morning and thought it was so good..but didn't think about posting it or saving it, but as the morning went on it kept coming back to me...during my prayer time, devotional time etc so I decided that I should post it after all...what a simple thought but when I really dwelled on it for a few minutes it really spoke to me...so wanted then to share it here.

Rain..thunder...and lightning Thursday!!

 

About 5 inches of new "white stuff"!!

It's a beautiful day here in Michigan...everything is looking so nice and clean again with a fresh covering of snow!  We got around 5 more inches last evening and during the night..but it's warming up today and hopefully it will start to melt..there are drifts, 'big' piles of plowed snow, lots of smaller piles of snow and probably over a foot on the ground in most places...It's a balmy 37 degrees right now and suppose to be in the low 40's tomorrow and Thursday...so we shall see.  Hubby has shoveled the driveway pad and the sidewalk and deck...again...and so hopefully now we don't get any more 'measureable' snow fall..

Nothing else too much going on here...Ladies Bible study tonight and also tomorrow morning our Wednesday morning Bible study is starting a new Beth Moore study.  I haven't made it to many this winter so hope to get there tomorrow.  Then in the afternoon I have my appointment at the orthopedic doctor for the synvisc injection in my bad knee..hopefully it continues to keep me pretty much pain free.  In between I will be doing some Walmart shopping..the store is close to where I go for Bible study so it will be handy...

Beautiful Wednesday..

Well it's been a busy week..Hubby had a routine colonoscopy on Monday (which he got a good report from!)  Just had a lazy rest of the day after that..then yesterday it was another cold below zero morning but no new snow! Yay!! (We have around 10 inches on the ground besides all the mountains of snow from all the plowing!)  Last night I had a great evening with the ladies from our church..at our monthly "Chick Flick"  we had a fun evening watching the movie Ever After and enjoyed a nice finger food type buffet and lots of fellowship and laughter!  I even won a prize from answering a question correct about the movie (after the movie of course!)  The weather was very frigid when we left the church..already 5 degrees below zero at 9:45..it was good to get home to a warm home!! (And my heated throw felt wonderful!)
Nothing much on my agenda today except laundry and cleaning up the kitchen..tonight is Wednesday night service at church and our temperatures are a bit warmer today..up to a balmy 18 right now!!  So I guess that catches up on what has been going on here this week..not real exciting but not bad for February!!
Next thing on my list of to do's is to get busy filing our taxes online..it is really easy and pretty quick but just haven't done it yet.  Our internet was messed up last week.  We got a new modem and things have been good since they reset it etc.  But I wanted to make sure because I didn't want to get online and have it go out in the middle of the tax filing...

Valentine's day is only a couple days away..not sure what we are going to do to celebrate but we will do something!!  This is the time of year that I met my hubby in 1956!! So when Valentine's day comes around it always reminds me of such good memories..and he is so good about remembering too so it makes it special..love that guy!! ♥♥

Off to put the clothes in the dryer..have a wonderful Wednesday!!  Remember God Loves you!!

Off and on Internet...

Having some issues with our internet, so when I have access I have to hurry and post!!  This morning (when it was on for a bit) I read Ann Voskamp's blog and was so moved by it.  I have been thinking a lot about losing those you love and how we forget that time is short and we never know how long we have..so here is a link to her blog post, as she says it so much better than I could...I think you will love it..
