Countdown is on...

Just three more days...time is slipping by but I am proud to announce my shopping is finished!! I haven't wrapped any presents yet but most of our gifts are gift cards so it should be a bit easier this year! Today I made my last shopping trip to Target and the Dollar Store (with a couple stops at grocery stores too!) I got home and realized that there was one gift card and Christmas card I had neglected to mail...to our grandson and his wife and family in Florida..so I got busy and took it to the post office and got it there in time to go out in the mail today!!

Tomorrow morning I am heading over to my daughter's place and we (along with my granddaughter) are going to bake and decorate cookies. We haven't done this for quite a while (together) so it should be a fun day!! Then later in the day I plan to make a couple more batches of caramel corn to be put in tins for gifts! I will then hope to get the wrapping and organizing of the gifts done on Thursday!!

Friday..Christmas Eve Fred and I will be going to my sister's church for the Christmas Eve service and then going to her apartment with my brother's family for food and family time! I am looking forward to this even though it's going to be hard as this is the first Christmas Eve we will be celebrating without my brother...he passed away in March. I know he would want us to continue this tradition and so that's the plan!

Hope everyone is having a good time with the excitement of the season...the birth of our Savior Jesus!! May we all remember what we are celebrating!!

Well here we are...countdown to Christmas...only 5 more days!!
Glad I finished the bulk of my shopping today!!
Our weather is cold but no new snow..it's definitely going to be a
white Christmas but no storms in the forecast!!

Monday the 13th!

Well the weeks are flying by and here we are just 12 days to Jesus' Birthday!!
How are all your plans coming along?? I think it just hit me today that I am a
bit behind!! So the next few days may be a bit hectic but everything
will get done..it always does, doesn't it?

Wonderful Wednesday!

Hi there..cannot believe I haven't posted here for such a long time. I have had a busy couple weeks..

My sister....Arlene...had her 80th birthday and we held a Open House 80th Birthday Party for her on December 4th...Here are a few of the photos that my daughter Pam took at the celebration!!



This is a picture of my sister...(in the middle) :) taken with her 9 nieces and nephews. My brother has 4 children...they are the 4 on the right of my sister...I have 5 children and they are the 5 on the left of my sister...(looking at the photo)....



Here are the same nieces and nephews taken a "few" years ago...and not in any particular order but thought it was cute to compare!!!




This is a photo of my sister's great nieces and great nephews that were in attendance at the party! All together she has 27 ....10 from my brother's kids and 14 from my kids plus 2 more by marriage of 2 of my grandsons and 1 more granddaughter by marriage of my youngest son a year ago.

The two little girls (Lily and Brooklyn my great granddaughters) are my sister's great great nieces...and the two little boys (Issac and Ethan) are my sister's great great nephews. She also has Colton and Braedon (my grandson's boys) that live in Florida..so all in all 6 great greats!! Wow what an Auntie!!!



Ok...one more of my sister and I..not my favorite but thought I should share it anyway!!

We had a really great time at the party...it was hard not having our only brother with us. Dale went to be with the Lord in March of this year. He would have loved the party and having the whole family together. He was definitely missed but we all rejoice that he is with the Lord.

So I guess I will close for now and hope to be back soon to update you on what else has been going on at this busy time of the year!! Blessings....

First Monday in December!!

Well can you believe it??? it's December 6th already...wow...Christmas is really just
around the corner..it will be here before we know it. I haven't done much
shopping yet..but I think most of the grandkids are getting gift cards
so it won't take that long. And I still need ideas for the "grown up kids"!!
