Wow!! It's June already!!

Well all my good intentions about posting regularly here did not happen! I don't know why I don't get here but am going to try again.
It's nice that the weather is starting to feel a little like summer. We have had some really warm nice days and then it will turn cool and of course the spring rains have been frequent!
I have lots of flowers blooming..all the annuals are planted and now am enjoying seeing the perennials blossom..Hopefully I am going to post some of the last photos that I took...if I can remember how to get them loaded here!!
The last time I posted I was waiting to find out when I my knee surgery was going to be scheduled ..well I will have a complete knee replacement on August 6th. We are going to be going on vacation the second week of July and will be coming home around July 20th and my pre op for the surgery is July 23rd..Been having pain 24/7 so I am finally ready to get this done.
We have gotten the word from our grandson and his wife in Florida that their second son will be born on July 23rd...c section and we are excited about Braedon Trey's arrival! Wish we lived closer but it's great getting photos online from them and staying in touch..hopefully will get to see them soon!
We have had a couple day trips to enjoy the warmer weather..hubby and I went to Hidden Lake Gardens last month for their annual plant sale and got some new perennials...then had lunch at this restaurant that was back off the beaten path and ate on the deck overlooking Wamplers Lake..gorgeous day...good food!! Then this week we picked up some KFC and headed to Sterling State Park and had a picnic looking at Lake Erie..another nice day and time with my hubby.

Hello..it has been months since I have posted here..and I am trying to get back to blogging regularly!
It is getting to be Spring time here in Michigan..we had several days of above normal warm temps and it was fantastic!! I spent as much time outside as I could...did a little cleanup of one of the flower beds, but mostly just enjoyed sitting and reading...and of course listening to the birds and watching them.
We have had some excitement since I have been here to blog..our youngest son has gotten engaged to a great girl that we love and we are looking forward to a September wedding! Sunday we attended an engagement party for the happy couple and we got to meet her parents and they of course got to meet us and some of our family.
I have been sorta miserable with some feet and knee problems..hopefully will be having knee replacement surgery in the next few weeks..My dr appt is tomorrow to see when...
We have some summer activities to look forward to and of course a lot of our plans will depend on my surgery date. This Friday my daughter and I are taking my granddaughter Alyssa to Mackinac Island for her 4th year of working on the island for the summer. We will spend one night on the island before heading back home on Saturday.

Gingerbread House Making Party!!

Wow here it is a new year...2009...and I am just getting here to post what has been happening around here. It's been quite a while since I have been here and a lot has happened in our lives.. sorry I have been MIA for so long.
Our Christmas was wonderful..we had a FANTASTIC day with the family!! All of our kids in the same place at the same time??? AWESOME!! It was so much fun..all the grandkids were there except for Jeremy (who lives in Florida) and 2 of the great grandchildren were there and I held Lily for a couple hours and it was wonderful..she is soooo cute and has red hair!!! Fred and I got to Lori's around noon and walked back in our house at 11:45 Christmas night!! But what a great day..I think this is the first Christmas since 2004 that I wasn't in pain or having some physical problem..of course my knee hurt etc but that is the norm anymore and we had a really fun time!! Of course we both got spoiled..but we did a good job of doing that to them too!!

Something we did this Christmas that was a first for our family...we had a "family activity" after all the gifts were opened and we had ate..well at least the main meal..(lol) anyway Sharon (daughter in law) orchestrated the activity..we divided up in teams of 3-4 people each, each team got a can of frosting and a package of graham crackers..there was a whole bunch of different candies, sprinkles, small tubes of frosting gel, etc to use and we were all to make gingerbread houses..well our team was the only one that ended up with choc frosting!?!?! So we made a log cabin! and used red string licorice to make the "logs" and out of 8 houses we came in 3rd after the voting!! It was really fun and probably will be repeated next year!!
