2010!!

Here we are...2010...where did the time go?? Had real good intentions of posting here regularly when I posted last but as you can see I didn't follow through..so I am hoping that in 2010 I will do better!!
We had a fantastic Christmas. For the first time in several years we had all of our 5 children and their families together at the same time..including all grandchildren and great grandchildren. My sister also spent part of the day with us before she headed over to my brothers for that side of the families get together. Fred and I were blessed abundantly with gifts and love from all.

Now a new year..we went to a party at our church on New Year's eve and had a fun time. Lots of games, fun, food and fellowship...great way to start off 2010!

Good evening from cold, windy Michigan. Had a nice day today watching University of Michigan football. Josh (our grandson) came over and watched it with us..we have cable and he doesn't so he called to see if we were going to watch the game and asked if he could come watch it with us..well of course!! So we had a lot of fun watching the game together..Then later this afternoon hubby took me out for a late lunch/early supper for Sweetest Day!! We sorta took each other out to celebrate the day!! Now we are in for the evening and just relaxing! Not much else going on here..hope you are all having a great day!!

Well it has been a long time since I have posted..and lots has been happening in the last few months..In July we went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on a week vacation with some of the family..Our daughter Pam and her husband Dan, our daughter in law and her three kids, Jake, Nick, Morgan..our son Ed (her husband) had just started a new job and couldn't get away..Pam's youngest son Chris also went with us and we had a great week in the northern woods!! Here is a photo of the place we rented for the week.


Then we got home from our vacation in time for me to go for my pre op for knee surgery in August. So on August 6th I had a total knee replacement and was in the hospital until the 14th..the last 5 days I was in the transitional care unit where I got physical therapy twice a day..the first few days were quite painful but I am so glad I had the surgery and now after 2 months I am finished with physical therapy (as of last week) and can walk with out pain!! It is a definite Praise the Lord!
Then in September our youngest son got married to a wonderful girl who we love already!! They had a beautiful wedding and reception and then went on a honeymoon to the Smokies...a few days after the wedding..Fred and I went on a mini vacation to Sault Ste Marie Ontario and went on the Agawa Canyon Train Tour..we had taken this ride on our 25th wedding anniversary and had always planned on going back..well our 52nd anniversary was in September so thought this was a good time to go..then we left there and toured around the upper peninsula before heading to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island..had a fantastic time and enjoyed all the beautiful colors of fall! Wow!! It's June already!!

Well all my good intentions about posting regularly here did not happen! I don't know why I don't get here but am going to try again.
It's nice that the weather is starting to feel a little like summer. We have had some really warm nice days and then it will turn cool and of course the spring rains have been frequent!
I have lots of flowers blooming..all the annuals are planted and now am enjoying seeing the perennials blossom..Hopefully I am going to post some of the last photos that I took...if I can remember how to get them loaded here!!
The last time I posted I was waiting to find out when I my knee surgery was going to be scheduled ..well I will have a complete knee replacement on August 6th. We are going to be going on vacation the second week of July and will be coming home around July 20th and my pre op for the surgery is July 23rd..Been having pain 24/7 so I am finally ready to get this done.
We have gotten the word from our grandson and his wife in Florida that their second son will be born on July 23rd...c section and we are excited about Braedon Trey's arrival! Wish we lived closer but it's great getting photos online from them and staying in touch..hopefully will get to see them soon!
We have had a couple day trips to enjoy the warmer weather..hubby and I went to Hidden Lake Gardens last month for their annual plant sale and got some new perennials...then had lunch at this restaurant that was back off the beaten path and ate on the deck overlooking Wamplers Lake..gorgeous day...good food!! Then this week we picked up some KFC and headed to Sterling State Park and had a picnic looking at Lake Erie..another nice day and time with my hubby.

Hello..it has been months since I have posted here..and I am trying to get back to blogging regularly!
It is getting to be Spring time here in Michigan..we had several days of above normal warm temps and it was fantastic!! I spent as much time outside as I could...did a little cleanup of one of the flower beds, but mostly just enjoyed sitting and reading...and of course listening to the birds and watching them.
We have had some excitement since I have been here to blog..our youngest son has gotten engaged to a great girl that we love and we are looking forward to a September wedding! Sunday we attended an engagement party for the happy couple and we got to meet her parents and they of course got to meet us and some of our family.
I have been sorta miserable with some feet and knee problems..hopefully will be having knee replacement surgery in the next few weeks..My dr appt is tomorrow to see when...
We have some summer activities to look forward to and of course a lot of our plans will depend on my surgery date. This Friday my daughter and I are taking my granddaughter Alyssa to Mackinac Island for her 4th year of working on the island for the summer. We will spend one night on the island before heading back home on Saturday.
