Wednesday...June 15th!

Good evening from a rainy Michigan...it's been cloudy all day and around 70 degrees, but this evening a gentle rain started. After a very rainy April and May we actually need some rain again!!

Fred has our garden planted and it is looking good. He has been watering it and keeping the weeds out of it..we have had a few small strawberries but hopefully by next year they will be better! Our rhubarb was really great this spring and I have made several rhubarb cream/custard pies and yesterday tried a rhubarb cream cake. It is good but we decided we like the pies better!!

This past weekend was a busy one for us..first on Friday evening we went to Lake Orion for our granddaughter Rachel's high school graduation...then on Saturday we went to Tim and Jennifer's for a house warming and graduation combo party. The graduation party was for another granddaughter..Morgan who graduated on June 6th.

So after the busy weekend, it's been nice this week not to have any thing major on my agenda!!
Today the Sears repair man came and repaired our lawn tractor...so Fred got the yard mowed before the rain came!! Been enjoying my swing the last few days and got lots of reading done!!

It's Thursday!!

Wow...what a difference a day makes!!
Yesterday 100 degrees today the high is 75!!
Our weather the last few days (90's) is very unusual
for Michigan in June. As much as I loved it I am
sure a lot of people didn't appreciate it especially the school teachers
and students!! Our school is still in session and the majority of
the rooms do not have air conditioning so I know the break
in the weather made the teachers and kids a lot happier!!

Nothing too exciting going on here..did the laundry this morning and
the last load in the dryer as I type this!
I am getting ready to go outside and do some reading
in the swing as soon as this load finishes!!
Going to grill some hamburgs outside later for supper..or I should say
Fred is going to grill them.
I don't do grilling, that's always been his job!!


Tomorrow we will be going to our son's (Brian) for our granddaughter
Rachel's graduation. Then back home on Saturday for another granddaughter, Morgan's
graduation open house..so a busy couple days!!

Sunny Friday!! Yippee!!

Good afternoon!! It's a beautiful, gorgeous, lovely spring day here in Michigan..finally after days of rain, dark skies, clouds, (you get the picture) it's sunny and wonderful outside!! 73 degrees...lots of sun and guess what else......cotton is floating around from the cottonwood trees!! They cause havoc with allergies but I'll put up with that to have such a nice day!!

Heading outside to my new swing in a few minutes...but thought I should stop by here and say hello first.

We have been working on putting a fence around our garden but the weather has definitely slowed up hubby's progress...but thinking things will move along now since the rain has let up...for a few days (hopefully)....

Our lilacs are out in full bloom and even with all the rain they are still beautiful....here's a couple photos to show them off!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

It's been a great day here! Michigan weather can be a challenge but today was a perfect Spring day!! Right around 70 degrees...lots of sunshine and a nice breeze!

Church was great this morning..had a wonderful guest speaker that had been with us all weekend for a seminar...then after church had a phone call from one of my sons...text messages from my daughters..then we met with my daughter Pam and her daughter and my son Tim and his wife Jennifer and her mom for supper around 6:00 this evening..great time!! After we got home I had another phone call from another son wishing me a Happy Mother's day..so now I have heard from or seen all 5 of my kids and that made it a perfect Mother's day!! Add to that a absolutely wonderful husband!! I am so blessed!!

Tomorrow I will post a couple pictures of the flowers I received..I love this time of year...now to get busy this next week in my flower beds..get plants for the porch boxes etc. Fun season!!
