Snowing..again..

Happy Saturday from a cold, snowy Michigan!  We are under another winter advisory here but are warm and toasty inside...just watching through the picture window the snow coming down!

Not much planned for today.  I had thought about making a trip to the produce market but I am thinking we will probably just stay put here inside.  Did laundry yesterday and of course I have other things that should be done around the house so I will keep busy!

Made some pumpkin muffins this week that are healthy eating  friendly and that hit the spot...doing pretty good with my eating plan..It's been just 6 months since I got the diagnosis of being diabetic and I am adjusting well to that way of eating.  My glucose counts are great..always in the normal range and my last check up with my doctor (on the 20th) was a very positive appointment!! I have lost a total of 44.5 lbs since June and my A1C count has come down a lot...she was very pleased...It definitely has been the Lord helping me through this new phase of my life!! Thank you Lord!

Surprise!!

Surprised?? Two days in a row.  It's been a lazy Saturday for hubby and me.  We have watched Hallmark movies..and did odds and ends around the house.  Made chili and then realized we were out of saltines so had to make a quick trip to Krogers...it was worth it...the chili was delicious.

I even watched the episode of Parenthood I missed on Thursday night...(Love that show) and now I have had my shower and am heading off to bed..

It started snowing again this evening so am praying the roads won't be too bad in the morning..

Friday and all is well...

It's been a relatively quiet day around here today.  A little snow but no more accumulation!! PTL  Hubby finished cleaning off the snow on the deck and concrete pad in the driveway.  We didn't venture very far from home..I did take my car and filled it up with gas...suppose to get colder again and didn't want it to be too low on fuel.  Made a quick stop at Kroger's and picked up a few things..
We had leftovers for supper..some spaghetti squash lasagna and roast beef...along with some cukes and tomatoes...hit the spot. 

Worked on my Bible study for a bit and did my Bible reading..I am trying to stay on course of reading through the Bible this year. 

Watching the movie Amish Grace about the shooting of the little girls at an Amish school.  I had seen it before but for some reason am seeing and hearing some things I missed the first time! 

Praying for a wonderful weekend for all....and a beautiful SONday!!

Snowy day in Michigan!

Well we had another 3 inches of snow fall today...and it's suppose to snow through the night...hopefully the roads will get cleared off before the buses have to go out in the morning.  This is the time of the year that I really am glad I am retired!! All the time I worked at the child care, those early morning calls when the roads were bad were always something I disliked big time!  Also the decision to stay open or close the center and if the staff could make it safely...ahhh so nice not having to think about that!  It's hard to believe but it's been 6 years this month since I retired.

Actually another ''anniversary" is 6 years ago tomorrow I had major stomach surgery and had an 18 pound benign tumor/mass removed...wow doesn't seem possible that many years have gone by!! Praise the Lord for that no cancer surgery!!

 

Well I just heard on the weather report that we are close to breaking a record for the amount of snow we ever had in January..we have had 27 inches this year so far!!

Going to sign off for now..I am planning on getting back here on a regular basis...so until then....

Well I decided to 'update' my blog and in the process deleted much of what I wanted to save...but I think I can update my side pictures etc...this is sort of a wild pattern...may end up changing it again!! LOL
