Friday and all is well!!

 A beautiful Friday here in Michigan and I had this meme around for quite a while so thought today would be a good day to post it.  Thinking I am heading outside soon to do some more cleaning up in the flower beds...can't believe we are finally having warmer temperatures.   It has taken a really long time this Spring for the cold winds to leave...hopefully they're gone until fall!!  Have a fantastic Friday....

A Day in Your Life...

1. What time of day do you usually get up? Since retiring...9:30-10:00 (I am a night owl so go to bed late)

2. Do you greet the day with coffee or tea?  Neither

3. Do you hit the deck running or does it take you a while to get going? Takes a little while.

4. Do you eat breakfast? yes

5. What is your typical breakfast food? egg and toast

6. Sunny days or quiet rainy days? sunny

7. A Job or stay at home? retired..stay at home now

8. What's for lunch? varies..sometimes just fruit if breakfast was late.

9. Any daytime TV? What do you like to see?  Yes I like The Chew cooking program!

 10. Do you sit outside to have tea or coffee sometime during the day if the weather is nice? I sit outside in my swing often but with my ice water or sugar free lemonade!!

Beautiful Saturday...

 A summer meme from Annie...thanks again...

1. Favorite summer supper? I think I would have to say grilled burgers, potato salad or lettuce salad, sliced cucumbers/tomatoes/onions in vinegar or sour cream...

2. Have a recipe for it you can share? No not really...just whatever was in season and available.

3. Do you have a recipe for a nice dessert or drink for summer time? We enjoy caramel apple dessert..which is simply chopped apples, cool whip, crushed pineapple, mini marshmallows, and a package of sugar free butterscotch instant pudding... mix together and chill...

4.  What movies/books or television programs remind you most of summer? Well this is a hard one..as far as books I love all novels about beaches, seashores, oceanside etc.  but can't think of just one right now.  Movies??? Field of Dreams...Under the Tuscan Sun...


5.  Do you have plans for the 4th of July if you are in America?  Wanna share?
(If you aren't in the USA do you have any special  things you do only in summer?)
We are planning on being at Pam and Dan's cottage for the 4th!! Should be a fun time relaxing after Kelly's wedding the week before!!
 

6.  Do you store away your winter clothing or does it stay put all year long ?  I put some that are definitely not going to be used in the summer into a different closet...some in totes.  This year I am still wearing winter clothing and it's May 3rd!!  :(

National Day of Prayer 2014

Will you join Anne and us in praying for our nation?

Lord of the Universe. Lord of this planet. Lord of the nations. Lord of our hearts. On this National Day of Prayer, we look to You…
In the darkness, You are our Light.
In the storm, You are our Anchor.
In our weakness, You are our Strength. In our grief, You are our Comfort.
In our despair, You are our Hope.
In our confusion, You are our Wisdom. In time of terrorism, You are our Shield. In time of war, You are our Peace.
In times of uncertainty, You are the Rock on which we stand.

We make our prayer to You using the words of the prophet Daniel:

O Lord, You are the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are merciful and forgiving. You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame because we have sinned against You, and done wrong. We have turned away from Your commands and principles. We have turned away from You.

Yet You have promised in 2 Chronicles 7, that if we–a people identified with You–would humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, then You would hear our prayer, forgive our sin and heal our land.

So we choose to stop pointing our finger at the sins of others, and examine our own hearts and lives. We choose to acknowledge our own sin–our neglect and defiance and ignorance and even rejection of You. This day we choose to repent.

In response to our heartfelt repentance, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of Jesus Christ, in keeping with all Your righteous acts and according to Your promise, turn away Your anger and Your wrath from the United States of America. Hear the prayers and petitions offered to You on this National Day of Prayer, as we give You our full attention. Give ear, our God, and hear; open Your eyes and see. We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy.

For the glory of Your Name hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.

We ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ who offers us salvation from Your judgment, forgiveness for our sin, and reconciliation with You through His own blood shed on the Cross. Amen.
