It's Saturday!! And almost Spring!!

Wow it's Saturday already!! Hard to believe how the time flies..I guess it's true what my mom always told me that the time goes faster as you get older!!

I want to share some of the pictures Alyssa sent me from Thailand..for those that don't know, Alyssa is my granddaughter and has been in Thailand since January..she will be coming home April 5th and then the first of May will be heading to Mackinac Island to work on the island driving horse taxi for the summer..Her boyfriend Reed has been there in Thailand learning more about diving..he has his certification and is now working towards another level of diving. She has really enjoyed the weather and the experience of living somewhere totally different from Michigan!! But she has been missed here!! Will be good to have her home (at least for a month!!) Enjoy the pictures!! They make me want to be there to enjoy the warm weather!!

Well it is morning but just barely!! It's 1:00 am here in Michigan and I should be thinking about going to bed but noticed it has been a few days since I had posted here, so thought I'd say hi!! It seems like the days have flown by..we had lots of snow last week..one night and the next day we got 7 inches..then on Saturday we got another 4! It's really enough but I don't think it's done for the year. With setting our clocks ahead for Daylight Savings Time the late afternoons are lasting a little longer..I'll be glad when the warm weather comes with the longer days!! Then the flowers...ahhhh sounds great doesn't it??
Today I rode with hubby to Monroe to our county health department to take a water sample from the church..have to do this every so often and I decided I'd ride along..made a stop at Meijer's and did a little shopping..then home and had a quick lunch before going to Curves. The rest of the day was just the usual routine..watched a little tv this evening and did some reading. Tomorrow I will be making a trip down to the center to help the new director with some paper work she is having struggles with..and then of course I can chat with Lori and Nell while I am there!
Had a nice visit from my grandson's wife Kim..and their little one..Brooklyn Sunday afternoon. Kim and Brooklyn are here for a few days at Kim's parents..it was nice to see both of them and see Brooklyn walking and growing up so fast..she is 10 months old already..here's a pic of her and her Grandpa (our youngest son Tim!)

She was a little bashful with Fred and I as we haven't seen her since Christmas and I think she was wondering who we were!?!
Well time to get to bed and dream about warm weather...night...and God Bless!

It's March!!

Wow can't believe it's March 4th and I haven't been here to tell you all how glad I am it's getting closer to Spring!! As most of you know I LOVE warm weather and even though we have a ways to go to summer...spring isn't too far off. Of course last night after having a 'warm' day (50's) it turned cold and windy and we got some more snow!! It didn't accumulate too much more than a ground cover but this afternoon the forecast is for snow, sleet, freezing rain...take your pick!! It's all in the forecast..so that means more nasty roads.. but it's March...so hopefully this will be our last big storm!!

Not much news here..my daughter and I have been going to Curves..and I am getting use to it and have enjoyed it..so far...I know it will become more routine after a few times. The ladies that have been there have been very nice and friendly. I have been struggling some with my WW program..seems like I can't stay on it like I should..but I am not giving up...just have had a few set backs the last couple weeks with not seeing good results on the scale!!

I was planning on a visit to the center today..miss the ladies that I use to work with, but with the weather being questionable..I may put it off until Thursday..

Friday...again

Well it is "just" Friday but can't believe where this week has gone!! Flew right by when I wasn't watching I guess!!
This week we had quite a big snow storm on Monday night and Tuesday most of the day...about 9 inches altogether but it warmed up quite a bit on Tuesday afternoon and it did melt some. Here are a couple pictures I took Tuesday....

Since then we have had brrrr cold weather...now tonight they are forecasting another 2-4 inches starting early morning....hurry up Spring!!!

My daughter Lori and I joined Curves this past week and yesterday was our first session...we are going again tomorrow and hopefully can get through it without a lot of help...we shall see. A lot of the machines were familiar to me from physical therapy when I had my broken ankle,toes and foot a couple years ago..and then last spring when I had knee surgery, but it's been a while and I am definitely out of shape!! (Can I blame it on my surgery last month??) Probably not!!
Well it seems it is past my bedtime...hubby has already gone on to bed and here I am still on the computer!! I guess maybe I am a little addicted!!

It's the Weekend!!

Hello on this late Saturday afternoon..Spent most of the morning getting my computer cleaned up and getting my new printer to work wireless. My son who is very smart about these things spent about 3 hours working on it and updating things that I don't bother with...etc. so now we will see how it goes!!
I have always used Mozilla Firefox and about a month ago something went berserk with it and I couldn't get it to run on my pc...so he fixed that for me too!! YAY!!

One of the pictures is of a bouquet that I received on my last day of work from 3 of the staff...that was a really nice surprise too!!
I am going to sign off for now..have to do something constructive around the house today...like... for a start...then some so better get busy!! Have a blessed Saturday!!

I'm Back...finally

Well I guess I have been neglectful in my posting here..hmmm didn't realize it had been 10 days since I had been here..I have been doing a lot of reading and haven't taken the time to post here...so will try and catch up on what's been happening!
ok...first of all my hubby spoiled me with beautiful roses that had a little stuffed teddy bear with it's arms around the vase...then he took me to Red Lobster for supper...but we went the day after to avoid the rush!! It was a nice Valentine's Day!!
On Monday the 18th I had my post op checkup with the surgeon that did my surgery and that went real well..said everything was doing very good and confirmed again to me that all the pathologists reports showed NO cancer..and I praise the Lord for that and thank all that prayed for me during this time..
So that's what has been going on with me along with really enjoying my retirement..which went into effect on February 1st!! Next month I will be working a few hours here and there..one thing I will be doing is a staff training once a month and the first one is the end of March..so I will still be involved with the center in a small way.
We have had quite a bit of snow this last month and lots of temperatures..I am so ready for warmer weather!!! but I am trying to be patient..and spring will be here soon!!

Finally some sunshine!!

It's been a while since we have had a nice sunny day...after a frigid Sunday with a wind chill of minus 15 degrees, this is a nice change..It is still cold but no wind!! I have opted to stay inside where it is nice and warm..have some laundry to do, and I always have a book beside my chair ready to read!!

Been doing pretty good with my weight loss program..before surgery I had less of an appetite so it was easier to stay on program..but as I recuperate, my appetite is also recuperating so I am having to be more careful..but I thank the Lord for helping me in this area too!!
