Wow here it is a new year...2009...and I am just getting here to post what has been happening around here. It's been quite a while since I have been here and a lot has happened in our lives.. sorry I have been MIA for so long.
Our Christmas was wonderful..we had a FANTASTIC day with the family!! All of our kids in the same place at the same time??? AWESOME!! It was so much fun..all the grandkids were there except for Jeremy (who lives in Florida) and 2 of the great grandchildren were there and I held Lily for a couple hours and it was wonderful..she is soooo cute and has red hair!!! Fred and I got to Lori's around noon and walked back in our house at 11:45 Christmas night!! But what a great day..I think this is the first Christmas since 2004 that I wasn't in pain or having some physical problem..of course my knee hurt etc but that is the norm anymore and we had a really fun time!! Of course we both got spoiled..but we did a good job of doing that to them too!!
Something we did this Christmas that was a first for our family...we had a "family activity" after all the gifts were opened and we had ate..well at least the main meal..(lol) anyway Sharon (daughter in law) orchestrated the activity..we divided up in teams of 3-4 people each, each team got a can of frosting and a package of graham crackers..there was a whole bunch of different candies, sprinkles, small tubes of frosting gel, etc to use and we were all to make gingerbread houses..well our team was the only one that ended up with choc frosting!?!?! So we made a log cabin! and used red string licorice to make the "logs" and out of 8 houses we came in 3rd after the voting!! It was really fun and probably will be repeated next year!! Well this is a start at catching up with all that's been going on here in Michigan..will add more later..God Bless!

My Fall Project
Well here it is November 15th..and I have been neglectful getting here and posting. Today I made a wreath for the fall season..I have been looking around for one already made and there didn't seem to be any left..everything is Christmas at the stores..so we made a trip to Michael's last night and they had all the fall silk flowers on sale..80% off..can't beat that so I bought a grapevine wreath and made this wreath...
It was really inexpensive and I enjoyed doing it..I use to do a lot of crafts but over the last few years when I was working full time I got away from it. I am even thinking I will bake some cookies this year and give some for gifts..retirement has rejuvenated me in some areas!!

New Great GrandDaughter...Lily

Our new Great granddaughter was born yesterday...she weighed in at 6lbs 13oz and is 19 inches long..she has strawberry blond hair and of course is gorgeous!! Her full name is
Liliana Amerie (Lily-ah-na Am-ah-ree) but everyone calls her Lily for short..just had to share with you all!!
