Last Saturday in November..

Wow the last Saturday in November..which means...Christmas will be here before we know it!!
I had a nice week this week. All I had to contribute to the dinner for Thanksgiving was 2 pies!! I made a pecan pie and a pecan cheesecake pie...here's a peek at what that looks like....




And it is yummy!! With so many different desserts I actually got to bring home a couple pieces, so have enjoyed them!

This year was the first year in a long time that I didn't go out shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving...my daughter Lori and one of my daughter in laws usually make it a day by going shopping and out for lunch. Well we looked over the ads and none of us were really looking for anything in particular so we decided to skip it for this year. It was really cold and Fred and I stayed in most of the day and then last evening went out to Applebees for supper. (Oh I did make a trip to the library!!)

Today except for going outside to get the mail and paper we didn't venture away from home!! We watched football all day and then this evening watched the new Hallmark movie..Call Me Mrs. Miracle...really cute movie!!

So that's what has been happening here..I haven't put our Thanksgiving decorations away yet, we will probably start decorating for Christmas sometime next week..I am still enjoying the fall and Thanksgiving look for right now.

Tomorrow is the Lord's day and we will be off to church in the morning...no plans for the rest of the day but I am thinking maybe getting out the Christmas cards and addressing them..will see what my mood is tomorrow!!

Thursday..oops it's early Friday!!

It's been a good week around here..the weather has been chilly but no snow so that's good!! Had some rain earlier in the week and it was definitely needed..everything is still pretty dry around here..

My week has been pretty routine..Wednesday was Bible study and a great time of prayer and fellowship with the other ladies..when I left there I made a trip to Walmart to do some shopping..I had been making a list and I actually remembered it! Then Wednesday evening hubby and I had a nice date night..we went out to Red Lobster and I finally got my birthday lobster supper!! (Only about 3 months belated) but that was ok..the meal was delicious and we had a nice evening..today I went out and got the gifts/items for the shoe box I am getting ready for Operation Christmas Child that I need to have ready to take to church Sunday..cut off date for collecting them.

One other thing I have been doing is going through old photos..oh my I have found some good ones..my sister is having her 80th birthday on the 27th...and so all of her nieces and nephews (and me too) are planning a open house/birthday party for her on Dec. 4th. It's not a surprise but Pam is putting together a video of photos of her and that is a surprise!! So while I have been looking for photos of my sister I have found all kinds of photos of our kids when they were younger..so much fun!!

So that is about all that has been happening around here...(along with all the everyday routine "stuff")...

This Weekend...I

Had a lazy type weekend! Weather on Saturday was pretty nice...but Sunday...cold and dreary!!

☼ Friday I finished up some cleaning around the house..(the oven for one thing!!)

☼ Fred worked outside blowing the leaves into piles he could mulch up with the garden tractor/lawnmower..it was a great day Friday for working outside!!

☼ Believe this one??? I even spent an hour sitting in the swing (in the sun) reading!! Awesome!! And I am thinking that's probably the last time for this year!!

☼ Saturday afternoon I went with Pam and Dan to Lily's 2nd birthday party. Her Grandma Michelle had the party at her apartment and a really good time was had by all!!

☼ Saturday evening we spent around the house..watched some tv..did a lot of reading..and that was about it!!

☼ Today was SONday and was in church this morning..praising the Lord for His goodness to us!!

☼ Made a trip to the grocery store with every intention of making meat loaf for a early supper..but daughter in law Jennifer called and invited us to go with them for supper at a restaurant close to where she and Tim live..so I chauffeured and Fred and I went there and had a nice evening with them.

☼ Got home in time to watch the last half of Undercover Boss...and then Brothers and Sisters..news is on now and Fred and I have been reading..

☼ I am reading a Christian novel by Dan Walsh titled..."The Unfinished Gift"..so far it's very enjoyable...written in the 1940's and is a Christmas time book!! Love Christmas stories.

Guess that about wraps up my weekend..praying that all of you have had a great one and praying for a wonderful week ahead!!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Having a quiet evening...hubby and I watched Survivor together..one of the shows we both like..now Fox News is on and I am catching up on my emails and decided it was time to post here!

This morning was my Bible study and as always it was really a blessed time..I look forward to Wednesday mornings to not only study God's word but for the prayer and fellowship with a group of wonderful women. It is a great way to spend 2 hours!! On the way home I made a couple stops..one of them was at Target to pick up a birthday gift for our great granddaughter Lily..going to a birthday party for her on Saturday...she just turned 2 years old.

While I was there I also bought Susan Boyle's new CD..."The Gift"..I love her voice and this CD was just released yesterday and Target had it on sale so I couldn't resist!! It has some Christmas carols and other songs on it and of course had to play it on the way home..(never too early for Christmas music!!) The rest of the day was a lazy day for me..I did some reading and had a power snooze late this afternoon so now I am 'wide' awake and probably will stay up a bit later and do some more reading tonight!!

We have been having some wonderful weather for November...it's been in the high 50's and low 60's and now they are forecasting 70 on Friday!! LOVE IT!! I am a warm weather person so this is a bonus for me to have such nice weather in November!!

Oh yes one more thing..tomorrow is our granddaughter Kelly's 22nd birthday..here is a recent picture and also one of her in 1988...

What a blessing she is to us! Happy Birthday Kelly!!
