This Weekend ...I

Well here I am...finally. Sunday night and it seems the weekend just flew by...I can't believe it's the 23rd of October already..I know when I haven't been here for a while, it always shocks me how fast the time has gone by. This weekend was a busy one.. Our church along with a few other churches had a Prophetic Conference at our churches South campus...that started Thursday evening...so here's a little summary of the weekend..

☼ Thursday night we went to the opening meeting of the conference. We met up with a lot of the folks from our local body and then also got to see a lot of old friends from other churches that we hadn't seen in a long time. The praise and worship was awesome..the message was great and all in all a wonderful evening..

☼ Friday was a pretty normal day around here..did some laundry..housework..etc then in the evening headed out to the Friday night meeting of the conference..

☼ Saturday the meeting started at 9:30 am so we were up and out of here early. It was another blessed time and we finished up there around 1:00 pm. Our son (Tim) and his wife (Jennifer) needed us to go with them to pick up a Duncan Phyfe table and chairs that they had purchased at a estate sale on Friday. So we did that and then spent some time with them visiting while we ate a late lunch at the Lone Star Restaurant..after that we came home and enjoyed relaxing and watching the World Series on tv...but the team we were rooting for lost!! :(☼ SONday...Praise the Lord for a wonderful service. The downer for the day was that Fred woke up feeling pretty much "under the weather" with a raspy voice and deep cough. He had been fighting this bug for a couple weeks and thought he was over it but he ended up staying home and spending some time in bed. (He is feeling some better this evening)...I decided not to cook today so I went and picked up KFC chicken dinners for our lunch today...was very good and hit the spot!! This afternoon and evening has been spent watching some sports on tv and doing some reading..a nice lazy SONday afternoon.


☼ I just finished reading another really good Amish novel..."Treasuring Emma" by Kathleen Fuller. I love stories about the Amish. I use to buy a lot of the books but have been getting them at the library lately and saving some money that way!!☼ We had some sunshine and warmer temps today..almost 70 degrees after a cold, rainy last few days.

☼ Guess that about wraps up my weekend..praying that all of you have had a great one and praying
for a wonderful week ahead!!☼ I will be back soon to share some photos of our wandering Fall color trip that we took the first full week of October...We had such a good time and have lots of photos to share...

9-11 We will never forget...

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God in Whom I trust."

For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge. His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

You will not be afraid of the terror by night or of the arrow that flies by day, of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand my fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand. But it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you nor will any plague come near your tent.

For He will give His angels charge concerning you - to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands lest you strike your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:1-11

Our Anniversary...54 years!

Today is a special day for me and my hubby. 54 years ago we were married in a candlelight ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Temperance...my home town...We lived for about 11 months in a rented apartment and then moved to our new house about 6 weeks before our first child...Pam...was born on Sept. 17th. We still live in the same house after 53 years...we raised 5 children here and have had a wonderful journey together, many happy times and of course some times not as happy but the good memories definitely are in the majority!! The Lord has richly blessed us and we are continually thankful to Him for all He has done and love Him so much! One of the many blessings we have....Family...our 5 children and their spouses...our 17 grandchildren and our 4 great grandchildren...our family means everything to us...

We have celebrated all week..Monday we went to the movies and seen The Help and really enjoyed it, then we went out for supper to P F Changs China Restaurant..which was yummy...Tuesday we went to our favorite seafood restaurant...The Seafood...(unique name isn't it??) :) This morning I went to Bible study and returned home to find a beautiful bouquet of red roses!! (I love flowers!!) Thanks honey!!

This afternoon we are going to a memorial service for a newborn baby girl of a precious young couple at the south campus of our church...she was born on the 30th of August but lived just 4 days before going to be with Jesus. Please pray for the Bailey family if you think of it the next few days...

Then later tonight we will finish our celebrating with supper at Olive Garden...Later this month we are planning a trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan and possibly a visit to our granddaughter on Mackinac Island.

It's been an awesome journey and just wanted to share a little of it here with all of you...
