Summer like weather...Love it!

Wow what a great couple of days I have had..I really don't know where to start. Let's see.....

Yesterday I had a really nice surprise..Fred came out from getting ready to go to the mall to walk (at least I thought that was what he had planned) and asked me if I wanted to take a ride up to Hidden Lake Gardens in the Irish Hills area about an hour from our house..we go to the Gardens at least twice a year..it's an awesome place owned and maintained by Michigan State University..it's especially pretty in the spring/early summer and then in the fall. There are several sections of the park that you can drive through..part of it is in a forest and then comes out to clearings etc as you drive through..there is a picnic area..a conservatory/green house..gift shop etc. Just a really nice place to visit and close by. Oh and yes I did want to go..I told him I had been hoping he would suggest it!!

On the way home after taking a lot of backroads after we left the gardens....we stopped at a nice restaurant that we have gone to often when we are in that area...and had a delicious steak supper..yummmy Then home for the evening.

Later in the evening I got a text from our daughter Lori..said she was going to Seattle for the weekend..(it had all happened sort of quickly and she had just decided to go) one of her friends was going to hear a former student of hers play in a university symphony in Seattle and had plenty of room for Lori to share her room..the best part is that Lori had 3 vouchers from last fall and spring when she had given up her seat on the airplane coming home from Florida..so it wouldn't cost her anything for the ticket..anyway she needed a ride to the Detroit Airport..so yes Fred and I took her this afternoon and then hubby made a detour on the way home and we did a backroads excursion on our way home..oh my the colors were gorgeous and we had such a fun time..took more pictures..(Yes I took oodles yesterday too and will share soon!) So....if we had come straight home after dropping her off we would have been home around 3:30....but we didn't make it home until around 6:30!! But it was worth it.

So that is a long synopsis of our last two days...here are a couple pictures of yesterday's roaming..

Taken at Hidden Lake Gardens..the one below is of a fall flower...also taken at the Gardens
but I cannot remember the name of the flower...

And a couple more of hardy mums...they were gorgeous...

Have a wonderful weekend...may God richly bless you!!
